According to a November 2014 Forrester Research blog post, US mobile payments will grow to $142 billion over the next five years. As a POS solutions provider, this anticipated market growth underscores an important opportunity to help mobile application developers easily and efficiently integrate payment acceptance capabilities into their apps to meet the demands of this evolving market.
We reached a major milestone toward these efforts last month with the launch of our mobile software development kit (SDK). This has been a longtime goal for us. Our mobile SDK expands the reach of mobile commerce and empowers mobile application developers, allowing them to take advantage of all the benefits offered through our vast network of payment partners.
The Apriva SDK enables developers to easily integrate with our payment gateway and incorporate advanced payment capabilities into both new and existing mobile applications, reducing development time and increasing efficiency. For developers looking to integrate payments for the first time, our mobile SDK will allow them to connect to the largest array of processors to offer the most choices for merchants.
Additionally developers who want to enhance their businesses’ current payment platforms can integrate with the Apriva Gateway to expand their payment offerings, supporting a variety of payment processing needs including sales, partial sales, adjustments, refunds, reversal transactions, manually-entered or swiped cards, and cash and check recording. Following integration and connection to the Apriva Gateway, application developers are provided the ability to integrate emailed receipts and viewable transaction histories.
With constantly changing hardware, software and payment processing options, it can be a struggle to stay ahead of customer needs. By integrating with Apriva’s Gateway, developers and the merchants they work with can let us worry about the changing regulations and developments in payments, while using any hardware or software they choose. Our new SDK provides more variety than ever, allowing both Android and iOS developers to support EMV, NFC and a wide array of the latest payment options including Apple Pay. We’re excited to build on our relationship with the developer community and look forward to continued collaboration.
Are you a mobile application developer in need of payments integration for project? What capabilities are most important to your merchant customers and the consumer who use their application? We’d love to hear from you on Twitter at @Apriva.
