New SDK Simplifies Payments Integration into New and Existing Mobile Apps and Meets Diverse Needs of Developers
Scottsdale, Ariz., May 12, 2015 — Apriva, the leading provider of secure end-to-end wireless transaction and information solutions, today announced the release of a new software development kit (SDK) that enables Point of Sale (POS) developers to easily integrate payment acceptance capabilities into new and existing mobile applications. Providing seamless integration with Apriva’s secure payment gateway, the newly released SDK allows Android and iOS developers to support EMV, NFC and a wide array of the latest payment options including Apple Pay via their apps by connecting to Apriva’s secure payment Gateway.
According to a November, 2014 Forrester Research, Inc., blog post, over the next five years, US mobile payments will grow to $142 billion. This has led developers of all types of mobile apps to seek ways to easily and efficiently integrate payment acceptance capabilities into their applications. However, due to constantly changing hardware, software and payment processing options, many struggle to stay ahead of customer needs.
Apriva’s new mobile SDK provides developers with comprehensive development tools that allow them to connect any hardware and any processor over Apriva’s secure Gateway. Whether looking to expand connections on an existing payment application or integrate payments for the first time, Apriva’s SDK provides developers the resources to connect to all the major processors in one simple and easy step, reducing development time and increasing efficiency.
“Consumers are showing increased interest in making purchases via their mobile devices leading many businesses to turn to this platform. Unfortunately, accepting payments and integrating them into an application can be a daunting task because of the numerous options that exist,” said Brian Sadowski, chief information officer at Apriva. Developers connecting to our Gateway will immediately gain access to the most extensive list of payment options and processor choices available with a single integration, enabling them to meet the needs of a broader pool of customers and ensuring they don’t miss a sale because they can’t support the latest technology. ”
Apriva enables developers to get up-and-running quickly via its dedicated support team for integrations, SDK documentation, a certification environment for development and testing and self-service portal. Apriva’s mobile SDK gives developers greater choice through XML integration which supports C#, Java, and PHP applications. The mobile SDK also delivers support for a wide variety of payment processing needs including for manually-entered or swiped cards, cash and check recording, as well as for sales, partial sales, adjustments, refunds and reversal transactions. In addition, following integration of the SDK and connection to the Apriva Gateway application developers are provided with the ability to email receipts, and view transaction histories. The offering supports end to end encryption from multiple hardware manufacturers.
