After years of helping developers implement mobile payment SDKs to add payment processing to their POS solution, the Apriva Integration Services (AIS) team has learned several best practices for effective implementation. Over the past few months, we have been sharing these tips and recommendations to help your team prepare for integration, make the process as smooth as possible, and keep your mobile payment app up to date long after launch.
This month’s tip is about how to keep your solution up to date after integration is complete.
New Releases for Your Mobile Payment App
One of the easiest ways to unlock new features and keep your solution secure post-launch is to download the latest update. AIS releases mobile payment SDK updates every month or two on our Developer site. Your operating system, hardware/ peripheral manufacturer and other vendors may release regular updates as well.
We recommend creating a release management strategy that tracks the subcomponents and providers used as part of your solution, including AIS. Then, schedule regular maintenance to implement their latest patches and security updates. If the provider offers automatic notifications, sign up to receive an email or text message when updates are available.
Follow Security Sites and Providers for News
Staying up to date on the mobile payment app industry and security news is another smart strategy for keeping your app current. You can follow data security bulletins and sites such as NIST’s National Vulnerability Database or the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team for real-time news on malware threats. Many component solution providers also maintain a blog with the latest updates, access to security patches and version releases.
